Seneca Foods Corporation’s Glencoe, MN facility is currently seeking a Full Time Field Representative to join our team. In Glencoe, we do it all! We have a full-time Labeling department, Frozen Corn on the Cob Packaging department, Field Reps to meet with local growers, and many Mechanics who make it possible to run a successful production! The Glencoe facility focuses on primarily Canning and Freezing, Peas, Lima Beans, Sweet Corn and Carrots. Our Peak Production season typically starts mid-June and wraps up mid-November. Responsible for contracting, planting, and harvesting pea and sweet corn acreage in a defined growing location.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree in Agriculture or related field or equivalent experience
  • Must be knowledgeable in all general agriculture areas
  • Must demonstrate strong planning and organizational skills; a high work ethic and leadership/supervisory skills; written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a plan to contract crop acres
  • Issue seed, plant, survey for weeds and other pests, stake fields, sample crops, procure labor and equipment
  • Supervise harvest of peas and sweet corn acreage, and maintain accurate records
  • Encourage good grower and community relations
  • Ensure that GMP’s (General manufacturing Practices), safety rules and regulations are being followed and enforced
  • Cross training with other departments as opportunities arise
  • Other duties as assigned
