About The Position

The Field Relief Manager role at U-Haul Company involves filling in for vacationing General Managers at U-Haul centers, providing coverage and ensuring exemplary customer service. U-Haul operates with a 'Hire Fast, Pay Fast' motto, offering immediate start and payment for working interviews, along with a $100 hiring bonus and an additional $300 cash bonus upon completion of the 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program. U-Haul, founded in 1945 by L.S. 'Sam' Shoen and Anna Mary Carty Shoen, originated from the post-World War II need for one-way, nationwide do-it-yourself moving equipment, thereby creating an entire industry.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of management experience in retail or other service industry with responsibility for financial results and customer satisfaction
  • Previous management proficiency in high-volume retail with profit and loss (P&L) accountability
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record
  • Able to work weekends and holidays
  • Computer expertise
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage for General Managers on leave by enforcing policies, inventory practices, etc.
  • Review implementation and assist at centers to stay apprised of all programs.
  • Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
  • Hire and educate new team members.
