About The Position

The Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) at Ascendis Pharma plays a crucial role in minimizing reimbursement barriers for patients and healthcare providers. This customer-facing position focuses on providing education regarding managed care coverage and reimbursement criteria for products within the endocrinology rare disease programs. The FRM will work closely with healthcare provider (HCP) office staff to facilitate the integration of products, analyze reimbursement issues, and serve as a local resource for access and reimbursement concerns, collaborating with various internal and external partners to achieve objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years' experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech or related healthcare industry
  • 3-6 years' experience with Specialty Pharmaceuticals/Biologics
  • Significant expertise in market access and reimbursement matters
  • Strong understanding and utilization of Specialty Pharmacy and third-party services
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturer compliance and patient confidentiality
  • Knowledge of regulations and laws governing the protection of patient identifying information.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of reimbursement and access, functioning as the subject matter expert in the assigned territory.
  • Educate providers on prior authorization requirements, coverage status, payer appeals requirements, and alternate funding options for the uninsured and underinsured.
  • Create and maintain productive relationships with HCPs, key stakeholders within HCP offices, and health care systems.
  • Apply knowledge of specialty pharmacy core services to assist customers in navigating specialty pharmacy distribution.
  • Partner with the Patient Support Team to ensure accurate coverage determinations and timely access to products for patients.
  • Develop business plans by performing strategic analyses of customers to identify issues and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify and respond to local opportunities and customer needs.
  • Establish ambitious objectives for developing and implementing innovative solutions for patient access.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Lead to develop a local access strategy plan that ensures achievement of KPI goals.
