The Recruiter at GFL Environmental is responsible for managing the full life cycle of recruiting, which includes reviewing, screening, and recommending placements of staff using creative sourcing methods for their designated region and line of business. This role provides an opportunity to gain exposure to Field Recruitment, supporting the scaling of front-line business operations throughout the region while also occasionally supporting various HR and Talent projects. The ideal candidate will be eager to step into a role with significant responsibility and the opportunity to showcase their talent within a dynamic environment. In this position, the Recruiter will partner with field operations leadership to determine staffing needs within an assigned territory. They will review and qualify applicant resumes in accordance with hiring managers' needs and conduct preliminary phone interviews to assess talent fit for teams. The Recruiter will coordinate phone, virtual, and in-person interviews between top candidates and hiring teams, as well as manage appropriate assessments and references. They will also make recommendations on hiring decisions and deliver offer letters, explaining important information such as benefits and compensation. The Recruiter will utilize both traditional and non-traditional resources, including career fairs and community networking events, to identify and attract quality candidates. They will support the pre-employment screening process for prospective employees and create and develop sourcing strategies as needed. Additionally, the Recruiter will manage college and university partnership programs and assist HR with the internal employee transfer process. Following up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback is also a key responsibility, along with maintaining excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve staffing goals. The Recruiter will ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations and manage current candidate activity in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Workday, while adhering to company policy regarding application and resume file retention.
