Cumming Group is seeking a Field Quantity Surveyor to validate installed quantities versus reported physical progress by CM and versus engineering drawings for a Life Science client's capital construction program. This position also works to provide variable costs in support of contractor work authorizations. The Field Quantity Surveyor is generally responsible for overseeing the overall preparation of deliverables and providing mentorship to other team members.

Proficient in measurement and having a solid understanding of different trades, procurement strategies, and delivery methods.

Ability to read and interpret various documents such as Arch, Civil, Structural, MEP, Geotech, Site Logistics, and Schedules.

Nice To Haves

Education: BS in Construction, Cost & Commercial Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field
Experience: 5+ years in Cost & Commercial Management or Quantity Surveying with professional accreditation and field validation experience is preferred
Preferred Certification: Professional accreditation – MRICS, AssocRICS, CCP, CEP, CPE, or equivalent

Responsibilities

Perform workload and team management such as QA/QC, fee proposals, and task management.
Reconcile invoices and change orders with GC, sub-contractors, and 3rd parties.
Perform Value Analysis.
Develop and nurture client relationships to ensure client satisfaction.
Support senior management by providing needed reports and responding to inquiries for information.
Mentor estimating technicians, estimators and train in understanding divisions and construction technology.
Prepare project plans.
Advising project management team on improvements and new strategies.
Measure and estimate building and material costs for projects.
Prepare reports about projected building costs.
Working collaboratively with stakeholders in the preparation of estimates/ cost plans.
KPI AI tracking progress reporting, schedule tracing reporting, Manpower loading tracking, Provide bid analysis and post-contract support.
Participate in peer review process.
Undertake Risk and Value management evaluations.
Understand project controls and stakeholders’ requirements.
Participate in industry events and demonstrate an understanding of the local market.
Other duties as assigned.
