About The Position

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking an experienced Pump Technician with millwright skills to join our client's field service team serving a variety of customers and industries, with a heavy focus on municipal water and wastewater facilities throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond. This position combines hands-on mechanical work with some customer training and startup commissioning at pumping stations and treatment plants across an expanding service area.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with pump repair, teardown, and rebuild
  • Strong millwright skills including welding and/or machining capabilities
  • Solid mechanical aptitude with ability to diagnose and solve complex equipment issues
  • Knowledge of pump curves, system analysis, and performance testing
  • Experience working in water/wastewater or similar industrial environments
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to train and educate customers
  • Comfortable presenting technical information in classroom-style settings
  • Valid driver's license with clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • Ability to pass background check and pre-employment drug screen
  • Must be able to travel extensively throughout our service region (company equipment provided).
  • Millwright: 5 years (Required)

  • Vibration analysis certification or experience
  • Familiarity with municipal water/wastewater systems
  • Previous experience with pump startup and commissioning
  • Customer-facing or training experience
  • Welding certification
  • Pump Installation: 5 years (Preferred)
  • Willingness to travel: 75% (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Perform field service, repairs, and maintenance on industrial pumps at municipal water/wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations
  • Complete pump teardowns, rebuilds, and repairs with precision and attention to detail
  • Conduct startup commissioning and testing for new pump installations on behalf of OEMs
  • Perform vibration analysis and pump curve analysis to ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Train municipal staff and facility operators on proper pump operation, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting
  • Work directly with customers including municipalities, water districts, and facility managers
  • Document service work, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports
  • Travel regionally to customer sites, including overnight stays as needed (per-diems and lodging included).
  • Collaborate with our team to provide exceptional customer service and technical support
  • Repair work in local shop as needed.
