POSITION SUMMARY: This primary responsibility of this position within the ORV Field Performance team is to lead the investigation of potential product safety issues, identify root cause, assess risk, and lead the solution implementation as required.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering required.
  • Ability to solve complex and ambiguous problems with minimal supervision
  • 2 or more years in a product development role (design, test, or manufacturing).
  • Hands-on problem-solving experience along with mechanical aptitude strongly preferred.
  • Instrumentation, testing, and fabrication skills preferred.
  • Ability to lead a broad team across multiple disciplines for effective problem solving and recall resolution
  • Knowledge of ORV or vehicle systems/components.
  • Structured root cause problem-solving skills and data analysis experience required.
  • Predictive statistics experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical groups.
  • Ability to present at the VP level on a regular basis.
  • Decisive, self-motivated, and prone to action
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence others.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Must be customer focused to drive continual improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the scope definition, root cause, consequence, and solution implementation of identified safety related issues.
  • Lead the corrective action through validation, technical approval, and Vice President approval for field action of the safety bulletin.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify potential product safety issues that require additional work in the design process.
  • Lead and perform testing as needed to support investigation root cause and corrective actions.
  • Utilize and support CAPAs to drive corrective actions that will apply learnings across the entire enterprise.
  • Develop processes, standards, requirements, and procedures to resolve gaps and drive lessons learned from investigations back into current and new products.
  • Ensure all learnings are communicated to the peer team and captured in technical documentation i.e. Design Standards, FMEAs and DVP&Rs
  • Support other initiatives that relate to product safety & quality.
