About The Position

Job Summary: The Field Performance Coach is responsible for supporting the Chrysler Technology Center Advanced Service Team by assessing both current and future vehicle models for developing collision repair processes and warranty cost control. The role ensures that service procedures align with current collision repair best practices with collaboration of production engineers and material science. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with engineering, suppliers, parts, manufacturing, collision repair suppliers and collision repair consortiums to maintain cost-effective, high-quality service part availability and technical feasibility. This is an OEC position working full time on site at a customer location in Auburn Hills, MI.

Requirements

  • A High School diploma/GED is required.
  • At least 3-5 years in collision repair, collision repair shop management, or BIW service part development.
  • Familiarity with OEM service strategies and aftermarket repair procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle structural systems and collision energy management.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work across departments.
  • Ability to use collision repair equipment and materials (including various welder types/processes such as STRSW and GMAW, cutting, measuring, paint systems, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • ASE Certification, I-CAR Certification and/or Certificate or associate degree in Collision Repair preferred.
  • OEM certification(s) a plus.
  • Experience with advanced materials (e.g., aluminum, HSS, UHSS, composites) is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, NX) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support commodity strategies for collision repair procedures, including design for serviceability and cost optimization.
  • Evaluate and validate collision repair processes in accordance with OEM standards and industry best practices.
  • Identify, update, and document collision repair processes and procedures according to OEM/industry standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with product design and body engineering teams to ensure serviceability by assessing future model designs.
  • Support service part readiness and repair validation for BIW structural and non-structural components.
  • Research and stay up to date on industry trends for collision repair.
  • Analyze and interpret collision damage data to inform commodity strategy and prioritize service part development.
  • Stay current with technologies, and regulatory requirements affecting collision repair commodities.
  • Respond to Field Inquiries with Collision Shops for Repair Process Resolutions
