About The Position

Essential Functions: On installed precast concrete product, assess, and determine which areas of Architectural and Structural precast concrete are non-conforming and require patching, repair or finishing work completed. Utilizing patching/repairs tools and equipment, along with industry patching and repair techniques, provide the final product and finished appearance to match the customers selection. Precast finishes applied will include, thin brick, sandblasted, exposed aggregate, light etched and structural gray. Attention to details, finishes, and understands color matching. Follow direction from the Patching Foreman. Ability to work independently to complete daily tasks with minimal supervision. Proper use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). Secures and maintains a safe construction site. Sets up required equipment and appropriate fall protection measures to perform the daily tasks in a safe efficient manner. Perform routine maintenance/housekeeping of jobsite to maintain order and safe conditions. Maintains an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies. Informs foreman of needed repairs and restocking of supplies. Added Responsibilities: Concrete grinding, patching and repair as required. Welding when required (certification a plus, will train or certify). Understanding of concrete mix designs. Communication and interpersonal skills to interact with co-workers, supervisors, Foreman, and General Contractors. General commercial construction site knowledge. Understand jobsite safety requirements to perform in and maintain a safe working environment. Construction lift use and other small equipment use as required. Certification of lift use will be required. Education and Experience: High school or equivalent Concrete and Masonry patching and repair training, apprenticeship, and or related certifications. One-year commercial construction jobsite experience. Concrete and Masonry patching and repair experience. Application to precast concrete products is preferred, but not required. Active in PCC apprenticeship program or previously completed the program. Licenses/Certificates: Valid driver’s license Scissor and boom lift certification OSHA 10/30 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Passion for safety Must be comfortable working from heights Understanding of all Federal and State OSHA regulations regarding jobsite safety requirements. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Pay and Benefits: Pay and benefits for this position are determined by the Local 563 Union Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). All information regarding pay structure can be found in the Laborer's CBA.

Requirements

High school or equivalent
Concrete and Masonry patching and repair training, apprenticeship, and or related certifications.
One-year commercial construction jobsite experience.
Concrete and Masonry patching and repair experience.
Valid driver’s license
Scissor and boom lift certification
OSHA 10/30
Passion for safety
Must be comfortable working from heights
Understanding of all Federal and State OSHA regulations regarding jobsite safety requirements.
Capacity to remain calm even during stressful driving conditions.
Excellent team player.
Good verbal communications skills
Strong aptitude for reading blueprints
Skilled in use of power tools (caulking guns (handheld and battery operated), hammer drills.
Strong problem-solving abilities
Good organization and planning skills
Accurate reading of tape measurements
Basic math concepts to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
