POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: Field Operator DEPARTMENT: Field Operation Los Angeles REPORTS TO: Lead Operations Supervisor BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION: Additional duties include: Inspect, operate, and maintain all wells and related oil and gas treatment equipment daily. Perform various tests on wastewater, crude oil, and gas streams. Monitor production and sales of oil and gas. Input daily production numbers into reporting program. Generate daily and monthly gauge sheets and transmit to office for compilation. Complete monthly testing of all equipment Safety Devices. Communicate equipment problems, well problems, and production variances to supervisor. Generate, create, and close work orders using Maximo. Troubleshoot process problems and make minor mechanical repairs to keep processing units on line. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for oil and gas well producing operations including routine maintenance of the equipment and maintenance of the location to company standards, complying to environmental and safety regulations, keeping down time and operating costs to a minimum and keeping oil and gas production marketable. Operate lap top computers for input and transmission of gas meter chart readings, tank gauges, run tickets, well pressures, water meter readings, compressor data, well-test results, down-time codes and general well data. Perform the following functions: Check compressor fluid levels Grease pumping units Adjust dump valves Adjust gas regulators Maintain vacuum pumps Perform well tests Shoot fluid levels Witness liquid product sales Change stuffing box rubbers Check gear box fluid levels Soap & blow wells Diagnose well problems Inspect locations for well signs, safety, environmental, etc. Pipeline maintenance Operate and maintain the following surface equipment: Air compressors Alarm system Chemical injection pumps Electric motors Dehydrators Flow control equipment Free water knockouts or gun barrels Gas compressors from 15 to varying HP ranges Gas engines Generators Gas meters Separators H2S safety breathing equipment Heater-treaters Intermitters LACT units Line heaters or tank heaters Oil or product storage tanks Plunger lifts Pumping units Refrigeration product recovery equipment (plant operators only) Salt water disposal equipment Siphon strings Production units Triplex water injections pumps Well test units Equipment used: Hydrocrane Forklift Assortment of wrenches and general tools Gauge line Grind out machine Lap top computers Radio communication or mobile phones Safety equipment: safety glasses, steel toe boots, and approved hard hat Thief
