About The Position

The Gas Operator will report and maintain the facilities assigned to and perform other activities as required by management. This role involves maintaining motor vehicles in good working order and clean, safely pigging either an oil or gas pipeline as needed, and monitoring the SCADA system to understand field operations and react accordingly. The operator is required to wear PPE as per company policy and report and maintain assigned facilities, which includes taking readings of inlet, outlet, and fuel meters, keeping the station clean, changing filters on dehydrators, monitoring and adjusting fuel conditioners, gauging product tanks, and preparing them for sales. Additional responsibilities include calling in for H2O and condensate hauling, cleaning slug catcher Y-strainers, monitoring chemical storage tanks, conducting visual inspections of compressors, maintaining an inventory of assorted filters, monitoring and maintaining ROW signs, and performing tasks in a safe, timely, and responsible manner. The operator will communicate with co-workers, plant personnel, and management, assist with line locates, attend scheduled safety meetings, provide support to co-workers, perform minor equipment repairs as needed, and undertake all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous pipeline or compressor experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver license with a satisfactory safe driving record.
  • Good communicator with excellent work ethics and a good background in computer applications.
  • Minimum of two years' experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain motor vehicle in good working order and clean.

  • Monitor for H2S with Drager and H2S analyzers.
  • Conduct visual inspections of compressors for coolant, gas, and oil leaks.
  • Maintain an inventory of assorted filters in storage.
  • Monitor and maintain ROW signs.
  • Perform tasks in a safe, timely, and responsible manner.
  • Communicate with fellow co-workers, plant personnel, and management.
  • Assist with line locates.
  • Attend all scheduled safety meetings.
  • Provide support to co-workers.
  • Perform minor equipment repairs as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
