About The Position

The Field Operator III – Water Operations is responsible for monitoring and controlling water treatment systems, saltwater disposal (SWD) operations, and distribution networks through SCADA systems. This role focuses on ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations while supporting field personnel through remote troubleshooting, system optimization, and data-driven decision making.

Requirements

  • Experience with water systems, including water treatment, SWD, or distribution operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of SCADA systems for monitoring and remote operations
  • Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge of pumps, valves, and instrumentation
  • Ability to interpret system alarms and troubleshoot operational issues remotely
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick decisions under pressure
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with field personnel and documenting activities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting tools
  • Strong computer skills; experience with data logging systems preferred
  • Must meet conditional job offer requirements including background, drug test, agility and fit for duty.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor water treatment plants, SWD systems, and distribution networks using SCADA
  • Track and analyze flow rates, pressure levels, and system performance
  • Respond to system alarms and initiate corrective actions in a timely manner
  • Adjust pumps, valves, and system inputs remotely to maintain optimal operations
  • Coordinate with field operators, I&E technicians, and electrical crews for on-site troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Dispatch field personnel when remote resolution is not possible
  • Record operational data, incidents, and maintenance activities in logs and reports
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Follow emergency response procedures during system failures or contamination events
  • Participate in training, system upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance system efficiency and reliability
