The Field Operations Team Lead is responsible for overseeing and executing on-site installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance of critical environment automation systems and equipment projects and service. Your role will involve leading a team of technicians, ensuring exceptional service delivery, and maintaining high standards of quality across all projects.

  • Assist in estimate preparation and review, pre-construction scheduling, and attend meetings with customers
  • Schedule and assign installation and commissioning tasks to the team and ensure schedules are maintained and projects proceed according to plans, job specifications, and cost estimates
  • Facilitate communication between technicians, other internal teams, and customers to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and met
  • Support activities to test and verify the functionality of controls and mechanical systems, ensuring they meet design functional specifications. This may involve assessing electrical circuits, mechanical components, and control systems
  • Create, update, and maintain documentation in the system, inputting relevant information such as customer details, service requests, technician assignments, and job status updates
  • Coordinate all project closeout requirements including graphics, start up, punch list, O & M manuals, as-builts, etc.

  • Maintain relationships between sales, engineering, and execution teams so changes and discrepancies can be managed to minimize cost and delay throughout the estimating and execution phases of projects
  • Engage in o n-the- j ob t raining through collaboration with other Envelop Group companies, gaining exposure to best practices and cross-functional processes
  • Receive continuous training on HVAC control systems, TAB (testing, adjusting, and balancing), and project management as well as partner product lines
  • Responsible for training and developing technicians, providing technical advice, and offering guidance
  • Establish, communicate, and implement policies, practices, and standards to ensure effective and consistent department operation
  • Monitor the status of technician commissioning and closeout documentation for their assigned jobs and validate for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist in scheduling, organizing, and dispatching technicians
  • Collaborate with manager to evaluate performance issues or corrective actions as needed
  • Participate in the selection process for new team member s, and annual performance reviews and goal setting for team
  • Participate in l eadership d evelopment training to strengthen team management, communication and decision-making skills
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED; mechanical, electrical, or related technical degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience performing installation and/or maintenance of HVAC controls systems including start-up, commissioning, and integ rations
  • 1+ years of experience in construction project management or similar role
  • Experience with Critical Room Control, VFD drives systems, and various DDC control systems such as Niagara Tridium , JCI, Siemens, Delta, or Distech
  • Experience within the construction industry, specifically with construction drawings, specifications, construction schedules and processes
  • Must be highly organized and possess the ability to work in a high paced environment with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet schedules
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decisive judgement skills
  • Demonstrated a bility to work independently and autonomously as well as in a team environment while taking ownership of all tasks and providing dedicated support to our customers
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • This position requires a combination of working in an office environment and routine visits to jobsites
  • Ability to work in a variety of circumstances, including but not limited to standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment; working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • May be to satisfy requirements imposed by specific projects, customers, or company
  • Must be able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet
  • Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted
  • Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for employer-based sponsorship currently or in the future
  • Pre-hire requirements include a drug test, a driving report, evidence of insurability and a background check
  • Knowledge and experience in Phoenix Control Systems, Aircuity , Strobic and HEPA Filter technology along with NEBB, CETA or NSF certifications is preferred
