This is an entry-level position within the Information Technology Division of the Fairfax County Police Department. Under direct supervision, the position provides end-user technical support at police stations, administrative offices, and operational sites throughout the department in support of Field Operations projects and objectives, including body-worn camera systems, in-car video systems, interview room recording systems, and digital evidence management systems. Work is performed in both office and field environments, including police stations, police vehicles, and other operational facilities, and may involve working in proximity to police equipment, such as firearms and other law enforcement tools. Primary responsibilities include providing technical support for body-worn and in-car video cameras, camera docking stations, networking, and account management. The position maintains network-attached devices and troubleshoots networking issues in coordination with the Department of Information Technology (DIT). Additional duties include managing system user accounts by creating, modifying, and removing system permissions for camera users. The incumbent serves as a technical liaison between field staff and the Information Technology Division, outside vendors, and DIT personnel. The position also assists team members as needed and provides technical support for special projects as they arise. Further responsibilities include delivering end-user training, developing, and distributing detailed system documentation for camera users and court support staff, and maintaining an accurate physical inventory of all equipment, including coordinating upgrades and replacements as required.
