The position is responsible for leading and supervising employees who maintain and operate the gas distribution system, ensuring the integrity of gas utility infrastructure and customer safety. The incumbent will oversee operations, manage emergency responses, and ensure compliance with regulations while driving quality and performance within a functional or regional area.

  • Oversee the successful operation and maintenance of gas utility infrastructure, including mains, services, regulators, meters, and regulating stations.
  • Direct and manage emergency response efforts within a defined sub-regional area.
  • Drive field decision-making and coordinate with scheduling, service providers, and support departments to ensure work is performed as planned.
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, coordinating ongoing training for employees.
  • Ensure employees have the proper tools and equipment to perform their duties.
  • Drive safety, performance, quality, and workmanship in operations.
  • Execute and deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • Set performance expectations and direction for direct reports.
  • Partner with centralized scheduling to optimize resource and maintenance techniques.
  • Prepare and monitor capital and operating expense budgets, implementing cost control measures.
  • Enhance productivity of direct reports through selection, training, motivation, and performance management.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction through communication with customers and governmental agencies.
  • Establish and monitor work goals for safety, quality, cost management, and customer service.
  • Drive change and coach staff through effective feedback and performance evaluation.
  • Create and implement improved processes to enhance the operating environment.
  • BA/BS degree or 1-3 years of experience in gas utility operations (Supervisor I)
  • BA/BS degree or 3-6 years of experience in gas utility operations (Supervisor II)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Supervisory experience
  • Intermediate proficiency in PeopleSoft Financials
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
