About The Position

The position involves performing supervisory duties directing activities of work crew in construction, repair, maintenance, and equipment operations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, initiative, and an intermediate or advanced skill level in computer proficiency, particularly with integrated databases. The role requires the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, a strong work ethic, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively. Project management abilities are also essential.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or possession of a GED Certificate.
• Two years of experience as a supervisor of a construction, maintenance, or landscaping crew.
• A valid Florida Driver’s License or Commercial Driver License (CDL).
• Knowledge of procedures, techniques, tools, and equipment used in construction, maintenance, landscaping, and repair work.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings to establish grades and set elevations.
• Ability to plan, organize, and supervise the work of others.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with prisoners, community service workers, or work release persons.
• Possession of various professional or occupational licenses or certifications.
• Ability to pass background checks required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the work of one or more crews engaged in various construction and maintenance activities.
• Provides training, guidance, and assistance to subordinates.
• Helps resolve job-related problems and reviews work for compliance with plans, codes, standards, and regulations.
• Requisitions necessary tools, supplies, materials, and equipment needed for job completion.
• Maintains operational records and prepares special and routine reports.
• Enforces safety regulations pertaining to tools, machinery, vehicles, work areas, and equipment utilized.
• Operates equipment as required.
• Performs other related duties as required.
