Our affiliated brands include Cancos, UMI/Opustone, and Bell Cabinetry. POSITION OVERVIEW The Field Operations Manager oversees all outbound job execution for the Atlanta Surfaces Division. This role leads the Scheduling, Installation, and Service/Repair functions, ensuring every job leaves the shop accurately, is delivered and installed on schedule, meets CR standards, and achieves a superior customer experience. You will manage capacity planning, installer dispatch, daily routing, cycle times, field quality, and service recovery efforts while driving operational efficiency, communication, and safety. This leader owns the full installation lifecycle — from job-ready release to final sign-off.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of experience in countertop fabrication, installation, scheduling, or field operations; leadership experience required.
  • Deep understanding of the surfaces installation lifecycle — measure, fabrication, logistics, install, and service.
  • Strong operational, analytical, and process-management skills, with the ability to prioritize in a high-volume environment.
  • Experience managing multi-layered teams and coordinating across multiple roles (dispatch, installers, schedulers).
  • Familiarity with routing tools, scheduling systems, installation software, and KPI dashboards.
  • Proven ability to coach high-performance teams and enforce consistent standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, problem-solving ability, and customer-focused judgment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a multi-location or high-volume countertop or millwork operation.
  • Knowledge of stone, quartz, solid surface, and specialty materials installation requirements.
  • Experience collaborating with builders, designers, remodelers, and homeowner clients.
  • Track record of reducing remakes, improving install quality, and increasing on-time performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Installation Manager, Project Managers, and Scheduling Manager, along with their respective teams.
  • Build a high-performance, accountability-driven culture focused on accuracy, speed, and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee hiring, training, development, and performance management for scheduling, dispatch, and installation teams.
  • Oversee daily, weekly, and long-range scheduling of countertop installs, re-measures, cut-ins, and repairs.
  • Maintain a master production-to-installation schedule ensuring lead times and install dates align with fabrication output.
  • Manage capacity allocation across installer crews, balancing workload, geography, skillset, and job complexity.
  • Direct daily dispatching of installers and service teams — including route planning, job sequencing, and follow-through.
  • Ensure dispatch delivers optimized routes that minimize windshield time, maximize productivity, and meet SLAs.
  • Monitor real-time field progress and adjust routes or assignments as required.
  • Oversee field quality control inspections, install audits, and job sign-off processes.
  • Establish standards and checklists for field quality performance; reduce remakes, misses, and escalations.
  • Manage all repairs, service calls, punch list items, and warranty-related work orders with urgency and precision.
  • Partner with fabrication leadership to close the feedback loop on material defects, measurement errors, or process gaps.
  • Ensure every job leaving the shop is job-ready — correct slabs, templates, sinks, hardware, paperwork, and install notes.
  • Maintain tight coordination with templating/measure, fabrication, logistics, and sales teams on timelines and constraints.
  • Proactively communicate delays, holds, exceptions, or material concerns to internal stakeholders.
  • Track and report KPIs including: Install on-time percentage Installer productivity Cycle times (template → install) Quality failure rate Service/repair volume Daily/weekly job throughput
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to reduce errors, improve installation quality, shorten lead times, and enhance the customer experience.
  • Ensure safety protocols, jobsite requirements, and compliance standards are met on every installation.
