About The Position

Kooner Fleet Management Solutions is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Fleet/Field Manager to join our growing team. This role involves leading a team of technicians within our fleet service programs, ensuring overall client support and managing maintenance processes that include maintenance, repair, and quality assurance. The Fleet/Field Manager will collaborate with Customers, Technicians, and Operations teams to ensure customer satisfaction, technician performance, safety, and billability.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years’ experience leading Fleet Maintenance teams.
  • 7+ years’ experience of fleet maintenance and repair as a heavy-duty technician.
  • Experience with creating standardized operating procedures and streamlining processes.
  • Ability to manage and influence operational and administrative processes in a high growth environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and continuously motivate highly effective teams.
  • Specialized understanding of maintenance procedures and general knowledge of industry regulations (e.g. EPA, DOT, OSHA) to ensure compliance.
  • Solid project management, resource planning, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in researching, interpreting, data management, and report generation.
  • High degree of autonomy, yet team-oriented with ability to work cross-functionally within the organization.
  • Proficiency with computers, including Google Docs and Fleet System software.
  • High School diploma required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage technician hiring, training, coaching, performance management, discipline, and overtime authorization.
  • Maintain an ongoing preventive/corrective maintenance program which sets the standard for service excellence.
  • Review status reports including road calls, breakdowns, parts inventory, repairs, and safety performance.
  • Provide hands-on maintenance assistance as needed.
  • Ensure all maintenance-related data is available for input in the vehicle maintenance system.
  • Establish maintenance-related training sessions that improve overall fleet condition and operational knowledge of drivers, mechanics, and shop personnel.
  • Ensure efficient utilization, vehicle maintenance quality, and transportation to ready-lines.
  • Report on fleet inventory/condition, including out of service listing, matched to asset list.
  • Implement and monitor all fleet maintenance activities (e.g. Pre/Post pre-trip, safety lane, warranty recovery, tire standards, oil/lubricants, major component failure, and all new initiatives).
  • Evaluate equipment performance and recommend modifications and/or alternate vendors based on maintenance/costing information.
  • Analyze service issues related to fleet maintenance and perform root cause analysis, recommending remediation methodologies and escalating as needed.
  • Assist in the purchase of parts.
  • Support efforts to create useful metrics and performance diagnostic reporting tools to support fleet quality trending and fleet maintenance performance.
