About The Position

The Field Logistics Specialist provides receptionist and clerical support in preparing, coordinating, and compiling patient records, answering phones, and scheduling appointments. The position is full-time, scheduled Monday to Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, totaling 40 hours per week, with rotating holidays. The specialist is responsible for exceptional customer service through daily interactions with both external and internal departmental contacts, receiving requests for material transport, medical/surgical supplies, and patient care equipment, and prioritizing these requests. They also provide timely follow-up information regarding canceled transports and supply outages, issue and credit supply items on the Lawson system, and coordinate routine supply orders for ancillary departments. The role may require floating to other departments and being placed on-call during scheduled shifts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • One (1) year in a customer care related role, preferably in a healthcare supply chain environment.
  • Knowledge of patient-related supplies, materials, equipment, and computer skills is preferred.
  • One (1) year of experience acting as a Customer Care Technician Level 1 or related position.
  • Knowledge of MMIS, Lawson, or other related inventory system is preferred.

  • Associates degree and/or continuing education is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides exceptional customer service through all daily interactions with both external and internal departmental contacts.
  • Receives all incoming requests for notices of material transport, medical/surgical supplies, and patient care equipment.
  • Prioritizes requests and dispatches personnel and/or volunteer staff to fulfill transport and supply requests.
  • Provides timely follow-up information to requesting departments regarding canceled transports and supply outages.
  • Issues and credits supply items on the Lawson system in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates and fills routine supply orders for ancillary departments.
  • Answers phones and receives requests via fax, call downs, walk-ins, tube system, and/or computer.
  • Resolves customer issues relating to order discrepancies and distribution of inventory/equipment.
  • Accurately enters computer data and maintains necessary records and reports.
  • Serves as a Customer Care Technician I as needed.
  • Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health and abides by service behavior standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • May be required to float to other departments based on business need.
  • May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
