About The Position

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• 6 months or more related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to kneel, bend, and pull weeds by hand.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery such as dump truck and backhoe.
• High level of customer service skills.
• Excellent oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret written information.
• Ability to observe safety and security procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepares graves and maintains cemetery grounds.
• Performs snow removal.
• Handles landscaping tasks including trimming grass/weeds, pruning trees and shrubbery, and mowing grass.
• Operates a variety of equipment including mowers, string trimmers, backhoe, dump truck, and chain saw.
• Positions casket-lowering device on grave and covers dirt pile with artificial grass carpet.
• Erects tent/canopy and arranges chairs for burial services.
• Prepares ground for burial by locating grave site and marking areas for excavation.
• Digs graves to specified depth, places vault, and sets grave marker in concrete.
• Opens and closes mausoleum vaults.
• Ensures all work adheres to safety policies and guidelines.
• Maintains good housekeeping and care of company assets.
