About the position

The IT Technician is responsible for assisting employees with questions on the usage of technology and for installing and maintaining computer hardware, software, and networks.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot all technology issues for employees and provide phone and in-person support to resolve issues.
  • Maintain log and/or list of support requests, time to answer, resolutions, required repairs, and maintenance.
  • Make recommendations about the purchase of hardware and software.
  • Provide network access to employees.
  • Install workstations and connect and set up hardware.
  • Load all required software.
  • Provide network accounts and passwords as required.
  • Monitor security of all technology.
  • Input and maintain IP addresses.
  • Advise staff of security breaches and/or changes in password or security status.
  • Identify and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriate.
  • Ensure hardware is stripped and secured before disposal.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures for electronic data processing, data security, and computer systems operations.
  • Monitor and maintain technology to ensure maximum access and efficient operations.
  • Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect customer information security, phishing, hacking, and network attacks.
  • Ensure that proper safety equipment is used during the installation of equipment.
  • Facilitate and/or conduct technical training to other employees.
  • Provide training on new hardware, equipment, or software to employees.
  • Keep abreast of new software, hardware, equipment, and tools available and recommend purchases.
  • Ensure that the work areas are kept clean and in accordance with company policy and safe working conditions.
  • Follow all attendance and punctuality standards with adherence to timekeeping standards.
  • Follow the Code of Business Ethics and Conduct.
  • Understand and follow all work rules and procedures and follow lawful directions from Supervisors.
  • Uphold the company's non-disclosure and confidentiality policies and agreements.
  • Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company policy.
  • Attend pertinent training on request.
  • Attend company meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
