About The Position

The Outreach Trainer at Sorenson Communications, LLC. is responsible for educating customers on how to use their Video Relay Service (VRS) device through American Sign Language (ASL). This role involves traveling to customer homes and businesses to perform VRS training, service calls, and new installations of Sorenson equipment. The Outreach Trainer will also participate in events with Sales/Outreach and Marketing groups to promote the benefits of Sorenson VRS services. Additionally, the position requires participation in seminars and training sessions with deaf constituents to facilitate communication with hearing constituents.

Requirements

• Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL).
• Extensive experience in installing Sorenson VRS equipment and providing customer service.
• Expertise in all types of videophone and network installations including T1, DSL, and High-Speed Cable Internet.
• Excellent written and ASL communication skills.
• Daily access to own transportation and willingness to provide required documentation including insurance and registration.
• Willingness to travel long distances by automobile or airplane and stay overnight.
• Excellent computer skills and understanding of the Internet, routers, hubs, switches, and installation.
• Maintain a personal high-speed Internet connection at place of residence.
• Understanding of firewalls and ability to work with IT and Network Administrators.

Responsibilities

• Communicate using American Sign Language (ASL) to educate customers on how to use their Video Relay Service device.
• Travel to customer homes and businesses performing VRS training, service calls, and new installations of Sorenson equipment.
• Educate new and existing customers on how to use the features and benefits of SVRS services and products.
• Participate in events with Sales/Outreach and Marketing groups to educate institutions, customers, and organizations about Sorenson VRS.
• Participate in seminar and training sessions with deaf constituents on using Sorenson services.

• Estimated Pay: $15.50-$21.35 (Hourly pay and piece rate included in estimate)
