Field Generator Service Technician
About The Position

We’re looking for motivated, mechanically inclined individuals who are ready to learn a highly valuable trade and grow their careers with us. We're hiring a Field Service Technician to service, maintain, and repair Generac generators. Whether you come from automotive, HVAC, electrical, or another hands-on background, this could be the right opportunity for you. Prior generator experience is a plus—but not required. We offer full training for the right candidate. Please note there are 3 certification levels.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a technician, mechanic, or in a similar hands-on role
- Solid understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics
- Proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic equipment
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Willingness to travel locally to customer job sites
- Valid driver’s license preferred

- Prior generator experience
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain Generac standby generators
- Perform preventative maintenance (oil/air filter changes, battery swaps, etc.)
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues using error codes and schematics
- Service equipment in the field with professionalism and efficiency
- Provide excellent customer support and represent the brand with integrity
- Keep detailed records of work performed, parts used, and customer interactions
- Identify and communicate opportunities for additional services or repairs
