About The Position

The Field Facilities Specialist at Kohl's is responsible for performing maintenance and handyman services in Kohl's stores, ensuring that company brand standards are upheld. This role involves completing work orders, maintaining tools and materials, and addressing various repair and maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and general upkeep of the store environment. The specialist will also communicate effectively with store management and external vendors to resolve maintenance issues and enhance store cleanliness.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Effective communication skills with multiple levels in the store organization, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and navigation of websites; able to utilize new computer systems and smartphones.
  • 2-4 years of prior maintenance work experience with a focus on door, plumbing, electrical/lighting, and handyman services.
  • Prior retail or office building maintenance experience.
  • Familiarity with general maintenance tools and tasks.

  • Ability to repair a variety of other interior/exterior issues as assigned by supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurate completion of work orders as assigned by supervisor.
  • Ensure all necessary materials and tools for daily work are available and in good condition.
  • Perform interior store repair and maintenance focusing on door and plumbing repairs.
  • Conduct interior lighting and electrical repairs, including lamp/ballast replacement and minor outlet repairs.
  • Proficiently handle other interior repair tasks such as flooring, painting, carpentry, and cleaning equipment repairs.
  • Perform exterior maintenance including building painting, power-washing, and minor landscaping repairs.
  • Assist stores with housekeeping problem-solving and suggest solutions to improve cleanliness.
  • Communicate safety and cleanliness issues to store management and territory facilities manager.
  • Identify maintenance issues needing resolution by external vendors and enter them into the facilities management program.
  • Regularly communicate updates and issues resolved to territory facilities manager and store management.
