About The Position

The Field Experience Coordinator at the University of Idaho is a part-time, temporary role based in Coeur d'Alene. This position is primarily responsible for coordinating placements and supervision of teacher education students in P-12 schools for their internships and clinical experiences. The coordinator will work closely with various departments and school districts to ensure successful placements and maintain appropriate records related to supervision and payments. Additionally, the role involves developing professional development opportunities for mentor teachers and teaching seminar courses for interns.

Requirements

• Experience working in PK-12 settings.

Responsibilities

• Arrange successful placements and supervision of teacher education students in P-12 schools for internships and clinical experiences.
• Collaborate with departments that offer teacher education and with school districts in Idaho and outside Idaho.
• Ensure appropriate record keeping regarding supervision, stipend and other payments, agreements with school districts, and completion of assessments.
• Develop print and electronic informational materials.
• Develop and deliver professional development opportunities for mentor teachers.
• Teach seminar courses for interns.
• Serve on committees related to teacher education.
• Prepare reports for the Department Chair, Director of Teacher Education, and Director of Field Placement.
