The Coordinator, Field Experience is a full-time position and is responsible for assisting with the field experience processes in the Riley College of Education and Human Sciences. The Coordinator will report to the Associate Dean, Office of Field Experiences in the Riley College, and will work closely with candidates (students), P-12 partner schools, the field experience coordinators, academic leadership, faculty, university supervisors, student success advisors, the office of student experiential learning services, as well as other administrators in the college. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinate field experience and demonstration teaching placement sites in P-12 schools for licensure candidates enrolled in any of Walden’s educator preparation programs. Process and maintain candidate files, applications, and field placement site information. Work in partnership with university contract administrators and serve as an initial affiliation agreement liaison between the college, office of student experiential learning services, and P-12 partner schools. Assist academic coordinators and field experience faculty in resolving student problems arising out of the field experience. Collaborate with various Walden departments to support P-12 partners who mentor Walden candidates. Communicate with P-12 partners regarding candidate and P-12 partner expectations and requirements. Assist in monitoring and collecting data on candidate field experience completion and satisfaction. Communicate with candidates via phone and electronic methods to counsel and advise candidates across educator preparation programs on field experience information, program and certification requirements, policies and procedures. Coordinate and assist in training and mentoring new team members, as well as colleagues in other departments that support teacher or principal candidates. Work in partnership with field experience staff members as a team member to accomplish field experience goals. Attend meetings and participate in professional development programs as requested. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Dean, Office of Field Experiences.
