About The Position

Bechtel is seeking a professional to be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing expediting activities for field purchases for the Thacker Pass Project. This includes assigning work, tracking progress, revising invoices, contacting suppliers, and solving problems to keep projects on schedule. The Thacker Pass Project is the largest known lithium resource in the United States, and Bechtel is the EPCM contractor responsible for managing and integrating the efforts of a team of contractors engineering and building the facility. The project is designed with sustainability in mind, utilizing excess process heat to generate electricity and recycling process water up to seven times.

Requirements

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in procurement systems like SAP, Oracle, or similar for tracking orders, materials, and supplier performance.
  • Strong Excel skills for reporting and data analysis, plus Word and Outlook for documents.
  • Understanding of Incoterms, freight forwarding, and customs documentation for coordinating material deliveries.

  • Collaboration skills to work effectively with planners, logistics, engineering, and project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage expediting for small projects.
  • Assign tasks to expeditors/buyers based on project needs.
  • Contact suppliers to get engineering data and track material delivery.
  • Review production schedules and progress to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Work with requestor, coordinators, project control, and suppliers to set priorities and delivery dates.
  • Follow up with field engineering for timely review and approval of supplier data.
  • Join meetings to discuss schedules and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate shipping or tracking with the logistics team.
