About The Position

Are you ready to help shape the future of sustainable manufacturing? This newly created role is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of RHI Magnesita's recycling initiatives. As part of a fast-moving and collaborative team, you'll drive the logistics and coordination that make our recycling pipeline work-from sample sourcing to processor engagement and cost analysis. As an Industrial Equipment Operator at our Hillsborough location, you'll play a vital role in operating and maintaining machinery used to crush and grind raw materials. Your contributions are essential to ensuring seamless operations and delivering top-quality products.

Requirements

  • Capability to understand and follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Effective time management skills for both personal tasks and team coordination.
  • Strong communication skills, including active listening, thoughtful questioning, and respectful interaction.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and techniques for efficient manufacturing.
  • Understanding of production methods and how to coordinate people and resources effectively.
  • Proficiency in basic math skills.
  • Ability to monitor gauges and indicators to ensure proper equipment operation.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and lubrication, and to assess maintenance needs.
  • Physical capability to walk or stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
  • Comfort with climbing and working at heights.
  • Forklift operation experience.
  • Familiarity with using hand and power tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Gets direction from plant manager on what product and sizes to be run.
  • Monitors and operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner to ensure continuity of flow and to detect malfunctions.
  • Uses controls to start, stop or adjust equipment that crushes and sizes material into the proper silos.
  • Examine materials or products visually with sampling devices to ensure conformance to specifications and reports any issues to plant manager.
  • Record data from operations, testing and production on specified forms and delivering samples to lab to be tested at specific intervals.
  • Makes continuous rounds to check conditions and adjusts controls so that system performance is optimized.
  • Recognizes and mitigates operating difficulties to reduce downtime and reports any issues to the plant manager.
  • Responsible for equipment cleaning, inspection, lubrication, troubleshooting and diagnostics of equipment.
  • Responsible for operating a forklift as needed to perform various duties in the plant including loading trucks.
  • Responsible for bagging into super sacks or 50 lb. bags on occasion.
  • Keep required daily safety documents.
  • Other tasks as need
