Collins Aerospace is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Field Service Engineer (FSE) with a strong technical and leadership background to serve as the DCGS-KS Site Lead. This position supports a team of GEOINT/SIGINT FSEs in Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) operations for our Kansas ANG customer. The role requires a seasoned technical leader with extensive hands-on DCGS systems expertise to guide technical decisions, ensure operational excellence, and maintain mission readiness. You will manage our enterprise system, leveraging your technical skills to deliver exceptional support and maintain high standards of service for our valued customer.

Requirements

  • Strong systems administration expertise in Linux, Windows, virtualization, and networking environments.
  • Technical experience with DCGS (ISR) systems and data workflows.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity and compliance frameworks.
  • Ability to operate effectively in high-tempo, mission-critical environments.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • CompTIA 8570 Sec + (active)
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI Clearance is required prior to start date.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time to customer locations.

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems (sensors, data processing platforms, networks, storage) are fully operational and mission ready.
  • Oversee system performance, uptime, and availability to meet mission requirements.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting and root cause analysis for outages or degraded performance.
  • Approve and guide system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.
  • Maintain compliance with facility and system security standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of system administrators (Linux/Windows, networking, storage, etc.).
  • Conduct performance reviews / support team members’ professional development.
  • Enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex technical issues.
  • Develop and refine operational procedures and workflows
  • Track metrics (uptime, incident response time, SLA performance)
  • Maintain system documentation, diagrams, and knowledge bases
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for the customer.
  • Translate mission requirements into actionable technical tasks for the team.
  • Provide status updates, briefings, & reports on system health/project progress.
  • Manage customer expectations and ensure satisfaction.
  • Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews as needed.
