The Opportunity: The Roche Support Network is dedicated to providing exceptional support to customers. As a Field Engineering Specialist: You will travel to customer sites and showcase your expertise in technical repair and installation for Roche assigned product lines. You will offer valuable service to laboratory customers in your assigned territory. You will provide routine technical support, on-site service, repair, and installation of Roche products. You will serve as a customer contact for technical and service-related issues and perform preventative maintenance. You will diagnose and resolve mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures. You will document all activities, contribute to quality improvement, and focus on maximizing customer satisfaction. This is a field-based role and you will provide primary support for within the greater Jacksonville area and secondary throughout Northern Florida and Southern Georgia. Ideally, you reside within 30 miles of Jacksonville is required. Estimated as up to 30% overnight, as needed, including to the corporate headquarters in Indianapolis

Requirements

  • High school diploma and 2 years of technical school or equivalent military training or work experience
  • 5 years of progressive experience in repairing or servicing mechanical/system hardware and software, or networking/wireless networking is necessary, OR a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field, plus 1-2 years of progressive experience repairing or servicing complex mechanical, system hardware and software, or networking, or wireless networking.
  • Successful completion of training or certification as defined by RD Services Leadership and policy.
  • Ability to travel, including overnight travel, is a requirement for this role.
  • Provide support after hours, on weekends and holidays as required
  • Possess strong customer service skills to ensure positive customer relationships
  • Ideally, you reside within 30 miles of Jacksonville is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 8+ years of progressive experience, OR a Bachelor's degree (Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field) in a relevant field plus 4+ years of progressive experience.
  • Some IT experience preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, and information technology
  • Ability to serve as an internal technical resource that can train and mentor other FESs in the region.
