About the position
The Field Engineer position at Actalent involves conducting material testing and inspections on construction sites, primarily in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Responsibilities
- Conduct material testing on job sites including soil, concrete, asphalt, and rebar.
- Transport samples with identifying documentation to the lab.
- Submit data and observations in written and digital reports to the project manager daily.
- Perform inspections on reinforced concrete, structural masonry, spray-applied fireproofing, and roofing.
- Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
- Assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians.
- Adhere to strict safety standards and report safety issues to management.
- Engage in pre-task planning and progressively take on more responsibility.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geology.
- Experience in material testing (preferred).
- Ability to transport samples and report data effectively.
- Strong communication skills for interaction with project managers and clients.
