About The Position

As a Field Engineer at Amadeus, you will recover functional and technical incidents and requests regarding hardware and software related systems or escalate them to resolver groups within Amadeus or to third parties involved in the service provided. You will work autonomously within defined processes and procedures, taking standard decisions and supporting the development of solutions to complex problems of a recurring nature. You will receive guidance from more senior roles or managers, with regular monitoring on the status of your assignments. Your responsibilities will include providing support in areas of personal computers, servers, mainframe applications, data/voice networks, and ERP systems. You will also acquire, install, and upgrade PC components and software, respond to user requests, provide real-time end-user ERP systems support, and assist in hardware and software evaluation.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Recover functional and technical incidents and requests regarding hardware and software related systems.
  • Work autonomously within defined processes and procedures.
  • Provide support in areas of personal computers, servers, mainframe applications, data/voice networks, and ERP systems.
  • Acquire, install, and upgrade PC components and software.
  • Respond to user requests and research complex problems associated with telecommunications networks.
  • Provide real-time end-user ERP systems support and training.
  • Diagnose problems through discussion with users and troubleshoot issues.
  • Assist in hardware and software evaluation and recommend upgrades.
  • Respond to Amadeus customers' questions concerning Amadeus products and solutions.
  • Acknowledge, investigate, and recover incidents within service levels.
  • Escalate incidents outside the scope of competencies to resolver groups.
  • Provide updates to customers on the status of critical problems.
  • Suggest improvements to the Knowledge Solutions database.
