About The Position

Herzog Contracting Corp. is currently seeking a Field Engineer in Denver, CO to join our team. Duties and Responsibilities: This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position. Key duties include schedule input; submittals; preparing field work packages; compiling as-built data; verifying installation quantities; field safety and quality inspections. Perform procurement quantity takeoffs. Daily reports in construction management software. Compile necessary information for all submittals and coordinate with Document Control to ensure proper documentation. Assist Superintendent with coordination of material deliveries. Perform field verifications, inspections and measurements. Work closely with document control and field personnel to ensure they have latest drawings and installation documents. Provide schedule update information to project scheduler. Ensure that work is correctly cost coded and all extra work is coded to separate cost codes as assigned by the Project Engineer or other. Update drawings with redlines of as-built information. Attend necessary briefings and safety meetings as required. Attain necessary job specific training and maintain annual requirements. Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position. Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Must be flexible in working in both office and field environment as needed.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Must have strong organization skills
  • Must be highly motivated
  • Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and endorsements as required per position.
  • Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position.
  • Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.
  • Perform light work, occasionally exerting up to 20 pounds of force.
  • Able to walk on uneven surfaces.
  • Occasionally ascend/descend step ladders and/or stairs.
  • Regularly sit and stand for an extended period of time.
  • Regularly kneel, bend, and squat.
  • Must successfully pass color/vision examinations as required by the position.
  • Must be able to hear and distinguish auditory signals as required by the position.
  • Able to work in conditions with loud noise; work on/around heavy/moving machinery.
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet).

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience in a construction related position preferred.
  • Five years or more of experience on railroad construction projects preferred.
  • Production and Cost Tracking
  • Construction management course work or internship experience a plus
