About The Position

HII-Mission Technologies Air and Marine Integration is looking for a Field Engineer to be apart of a fast paced and diverse team of electrical and structural artisans that have a wide range of knowledge of air and marine applications. The Field Engineer will need to be able to work on a team and be able to work on efforts with little supervision at times. The Field Engineer must have knowledge and experience with reading electrical schematics and assembly drawings. The scope of work is primarily electrical field services to include, assembly, termination, and acceptance testing of a wide range of interfaces to include AC/DC power, Discrete Signals, RF, Network, and Fiber Optics. The Field Engineer, must be willing to travel to CONUS locations throughout the year to support system install activities at remote sites.

Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand installation work packets, drawings, and schematics.
  • Experience w/ Fabricating MIL-STD wire and cable assemblies (In accordance with SAE-5088, NAVAIR 505, MIL-STD-1678)
  • Various hand tools, precision tools and test equipment such as crimp tools and multi-meters.
  • Laser wire marker, label maker and solder station equipment.
  • Ability to: Apply critical thinking, using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Coordinate work assignments with Customers, technicians, and other aircraft maintenance personnel.
  • Current Secret Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • IPC-620 Certification
  • Fiber Optic Termination and Inspection Experience
  • Eligibility to be upgraded to a Top Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, operates, maintains, repairs, and modifies equipment.
  • Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations.
  • Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time.
  • Installs, upgrades, and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change.
  • Maintains effective customer communications, relations, and provides onsite training.
  • CONUS and OCONUS travel to customer sites as needed.
