About The Position

Parsons is looking for a talented Field Engineer to join our team! In this role you will provide infrastructure engineering support in the field, acting as the technical team to support construction/installation crews. We value Field Engineers from a variety of disciplines, including; Electrical, Electronics, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, and Architectural backgrounds. T5 Program Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) to Parsons in April 2023. Parsons is the prime contractor. This $1.8+ billion contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) and certain reimbursable programs, the FAA NextGen Program, national security programs, and aviation safety. Specifically, work includes site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, drafting, contract surveillance, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA’s nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Civil, Structural, Architectural or Mechanical) from an ABET or NAAB accredited program
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant engineering experience (design and/or construction/field) in infrastructure or facilities projects
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents
  • Experience supporting construction activities, field investigations, and resolution of field issues
  • Experience interfacing directly with client and other stakeholders
  • Familiarity with applicable engineering codes and standards for the relevant discipline
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic electronic documentation tools
  • Strong communication and coordination skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and clients
  • Ability to travel extensively nationwide and work on active construction sites in varying field conditions
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass required background checks
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • A valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT/FE) or AXP certification
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) license
  • OSHA 30‑hour safety training
  • Experience in a dedicated field engineering or construction engineering role
  • Prior experience on federal, transportation, aviation, or large infrastructure projects
  • Experience with CAD/BIM tools and/or markup software (e.g., Bluebeam)
  • Experience coordinating with multiple disciplines and subcontractors in the field
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in remote and field environments
  • Requirements development and specification writing

Responsibilities

  • Field identification and planning of furniture, fixtures, equipment and system layouts
  • Validating designs against actual field conditions and resolving discrepancies
  • Conducting field surveys, inspections, and data collection to support design and construction
  • Interpreting drawings, specifications, and technical documents for field personnel
  • Supporting installation, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of systems, furniture, fixtures and equipment
  • Coordinating with other disciplines (electrical, civil, structural, mechanical, architectural), other contractors, and subcontractors
  • Preparing/redlining drawings, basic calculations, quantities, and construction support documentation
  • Preparing site survey reports, daily field reports, maintaining accurate project records, and documenting as‑built conditions
  • Ensuring work is performed in accordance with applicable federal and local codes, OSHA, company standards, and project requirements
  • Adhering to Parsons safety, quality, and documentation procedures
  • Performing other field engineering duties as assigned
