About The Position

Under direct supervision from the Project Superintendent; the Field Engineer supports the Project Superintendent while he/she assists with complex projects with required field staff. This role also helps with coordinating workers, material, and equipment; ensuring that plans and specifications are being followed per the direction of the Project Superintendent. Safety and professionalism are key to an effective job, as such this position ensures safety among the subcontractors and FCL employees by awareness of OSHA and policy and procedures. This role is an integral part of the team assisting the Project Superintendent to  ensure projects are delivered on time and meet FCL standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field, beneficial.
  • Experience working in the field on construction projects.
  • OSHA 30 Hour (10-hour minimum)
  • CPR -First Aid
  • SWPPP Training
  • LEED familiarity and/or certification
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record for Company truck
  • General knowledge of Industrial construction, technical aspects, administration and project management of all phases of Industrial Design Build projects.
  • Knowledge of public and construction safety and security issues and regulations.
  • Knowledge of all applicable local, state and federal building codes, statutes, and regulations.
  • Ability to work with a team to solve complex problems and consider proposed solutions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all parties in written and oral form.
  • Ability to work with numerous contractors in an efficient manner.
  • Mathematical skills, including application and use in problem solving.
  • Well-versed in software specific to job duties such as Viewpoint, MS Project and MS Office and the ability to learn new software.

Responsibilities

  • Works under the Project Superintendent, assisting the total construction effort in accordance with design, budget, safety, quality, and schedule.
  • Develops trust and confidence through support, open and frequent communication, and understanding of all team member’s expectations.
  • Builds productive relationships with team members by acting with the highest level of ethics, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Works collaboratively and effectively with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager throughout the project.
  • Communicates with the Project Superintendent about progress of their assigned project.
  • May be asked to attend on-site meetings with Project Superintendent that include: Architects, Engineers, Developer Representatives, Tenant Construction Representatives, and City Officials, at designated project.
  • Understands, follows, and promotes field policies, company policies and procedures.
  • Implements FCL’s Quality Assurance program.
  • Is aware of the current set of plans located on-site which has all updated plans and RFI’s logged into the set.
  • Upholds safety regulations and procedures, working in tandem with FCL Safety Staff.
  • Corrects any safety violations, reports to Project Superintendent.
  • May attend weekly safety meetings with all subcontractors.
  • Ensures jobsite is kept clean, safe, and secure always and is an example for others to follow.
  • Remains on jobsite until all contractors have completed their daily workload.
  • Reaches out to Project Superintendent, Associate V.P., or V.P. via phone with any questions relating to FCL policies, procedures and safety.
  • Attends training sessions as provided whether formal or informal.
