Job Summary The Field Engineer provides technical support to field operations and sales across all product lines, ensuring safe, efficient, and optimized execution of services. This role serves as a key liaison between Operations, Engineering, Sales, and Product Development, supporting tool applications, performance analysis, failure investigations, and new technology deployment. The Field Engineer also contributes to continuous improvement through data analysis, customer and competitor intelligence, and technical training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with engineering and analytical software tools.
  • Basic understanding of oilfield operations and downhole tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to travel across NAM field locations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to field operations and sales for all assigned product lines.
  • Define, communicate, and escalate product development needs based on field applications and operational challenges.
  • Support customer engagements alongside sales and operations teams to ensure technically sound solutions.
  • Collect and analyze performance data for experimental, standard, and competitor tools; generate technical reports and recommendations.
  • Lead or support failure analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective action implementation.
  • Provide technical expertise for real-time problem resolution during operations.
  • Assist in the preparation of performance bulletins and case studies in coordination with Business Development.
  • Gather and communicate competitor and customer intelligence to support strategic decisions.
  • Participate in new product development, field trials, and technology validation.
  • Support new product launches and ensure proper implementation within the district.
  • Transfer technical knowledge and field experience to operations, sales, and selected employees.
  • Maintain strong functional relationships with Operations, Regional Sales, Engineering, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Technical support related to tool capabilities, specifications, and engineering limits.
  • Application design and optimization.
  • Failure analysis and post-well reviews.
  • Performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Regional technical training and knowledge sharing.
  • Development and adherence to operational parameters and procedures.
  • Software and engineering application support, including hydraulic analysis, WhipSim milling software and torque and drag simulations.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between Operations, Engineering, and cross-functional teams.
  • Support product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
