About The Position

The Field Engineer works closely with internal teams, customers, and industry partners to support Nova-Tech Engineering’s innovative products, technologies, and equipment. This role plays a key part in inspecting and validating new technologies, conducting early product testing in the field, analyzing results, and contributing to the problem-solving process with cross-functional teams. The Field Engineer applies technical expertise and independent judgment to ensure product designs and functionality perform as intended before and during field trials. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, strong technical skills, and extensive product expertise. This role ensures product designs and functionality work prior to and during field trials through autonomy and collaboration, continuous improvement, technical support, field testing, and product installations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong technical skills, including CAD and/or embedded programming (C programming language preferred), with the ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
  • Proven analytical and diagnostic skills to troubleshoot equipment and trains others in equipment function.
  • Ability to understand scientific and mathematical theories to analyze data.
  • Effective communicator with strong verbal and written English skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Customer and team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 2 weeks at a time, 12–15 weeks per year); valid driver’s license and passport required.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and support engineering designs through field research, testing, and validation to evaluate product performance and viability.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and support new systems and technologies at test sites and customer locations.
  • Perform root cause analysis, analyze problems, and develop and communicate solutions across teams.
  • Support products throughout the full lifecycle—from concept and design through testing, implementation, and placement with the customer.
  • Partner with customers to determine needs, diagnose issues, support and explain complex issues, and coordinate testing and onsite visits.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships by delivering excellent customer service and responsive technical support.
  • Coordinate domestic and international travel to customers, including trip reporting and presentations, expense management, and compliance with safety, biosecurity, and animal welfare standards.
  • Develop required design and engineering documents necessary to support the purchasing, manufacturing, assembly, and testing of equipment.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive problem-solving, creative thinking, and alignment with company mission, values, and objectives.
