About The Position

Capital Paving & Construction (CPC) is a heavy highway and civil construction company. We are looking to hire Project Engineers for projects throughout the United States. This position will be an excellent opportunity to learn about many aspects of construction by working with experienced CPC construction professionals to ensure the project is successfully delivered. This position requires extensive travel and deployment based on project location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Entry Level to 5 years’ experience.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm for seeing projects take shape, has construction knowledge, and strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and contracts.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively and work nationwide.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings: physical, drug, and background.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
  • Ability to navigate active construction sites safely.
  • Ability to work extended hours and travel as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive experience in Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Experience with Critical Path Scheduling software preferred (Primavera, Microsoft Project, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Safety Director and Superintendent to ensure company and client safety expectations are exceeded on site.
  • Prepare and submit construction submittals for project conformance.
  • Review, understand and communicate plans/drawings to ensure complete project compliance with policies, regulations, laws and permits.
  • Coordinate work methods with Superintendent and Foreman to ensure all operations are conducted in alignment with company procedures and best management practices.
  • Adjust and troubleshoot work methods as needed to maintain project quality and schedule.
  • Build, maintain, and communicate project schedule through collaboration with Field Superintendents, Foreman, and peers.
  • Organize and oversee construction processes and ensure they are completed on time and on budget.
  • Have thorough and complete understanding of the contract, subcontracts, plans, and specifications.
  • Correspond daily or as needed with onsite company personnel and customers.
  • Coordinate/schedule subs and material or coordinate with foreman/superintendent to schedule as directed by the Project Manager.
