The Field Engineer is responsible for the layout of Weir products in customer locations, considering functionality, cost and ease of installation in accordance with company policies and procedures. They will assist the manager in scheduling work, help set project priorities, and check and approve work carried out by Designers. The primary function of this engineering position is to provide sales support for customer proposals for modifications to customers processes to improve productivity and include the use of Weir Equipment. Customer site visits to take measurements for equipment installation, determine and mitigate potential limitations and risks, preparation for installation of equipment, and monitor equipment during trial periods. Utilize CAD and other software systems to draft and create 2D and 3D layout models and drawings, installation instructions, and detailed reports, from site measurements, sketches and other sources. Review equipment configurations as they apply to proposal bids, generate design solutions/proposals and cost estimates to assist Projects and Sales Engineers.   • Provide sales support for customer proposals for modifications to customers processes to improve productivity.
  • Conduct customer site visits to take measurements for equipment installation.
  • Determine and mitigate potential limitations and risks during installation.
  • Prepare for installation of equipment and monitor equipment during trial periods.
  • Utilize CAD and other software systems to draft and create 2D and 3D layout models and drawings.
  • Generate design solutions/proposals and cost estimates to assist Projects and Sales Engineers.
  • Review equipment configurations as they apply to proposal bids.
  • Bachelor’s in an Engineering discipline with five years of relatable experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of general principles in engineering, project management, and manufacturing.
  • Experience with copper processing, piping systems, cyclones, valves, or pumps with emphasis on slurry/sludge/heavy media is preferred.
  • NX experience preferred.
  • Requires a valid US driver's license.
  • Requires ability to obtain MSHA mine safety certification.
  • Ability to work up to 70% on or visiting customer sites in Arizona, potentially other US states.
