About The Position

This position will work alongside Field Engineers during the construction or maintenance of wind farms, solar farms other renewable energy projects. This position will work under close supervision and determine degree of conformance of materials, installation of materials and equipment to The Company or Client specifications. This position will also be responsible to: Perform inspections; generate reports of conditions found during inspection activities; and notify supervisor of any problems. Relocation for this position will be required. Location & Travel Details: Interns have the potential to be placed on a project site located in any state throughout the US. You’ll spend 12 weeks on your assigned project. We offer designated daily per diem in addition to base pay and to help you cover living expenses. Requirements

  • EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Currently enrolled in Bachelor of Science degree program studying Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward The Company's Zero Injury principles
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Read, analyze and interpret blueprints and technical procedures
  • Write daily reports and document project activities
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as area, circumference and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to solve problems individually and in a team setting
  • Requires the ability to communicate clearly and interface effectively with a diverse group of field level employees

Responsibilities

  • Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures
  • Assist with the inspection quality of work performed during the daily activities of the overall construction on wind and solar projects.
  • Demonstrate good organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Must plan and conduct daily activities in a highly organized manner to ensure all QC and QA data are properly and accurately recorded
  • Help detects deficiencies and addressed deficiencies in a timely and effective manner
  • Work with the field engineering staff acting as their field representative ensuring construction complies with the QA/QC requirements
  • Interface with field foreman to maintain an open line of communication and reporting monitor job progress
  • Help compile all necessary information to create an operations and maintenance manual/file which may include subcontractor list with contacts and phone numbers and operation instructions for all components
  • Help maintain complete and accurate records during inspections so they can be transferred to permanent hard copy and/or electronic files
  • Inspect the work and help establish punch lists
  • Assist on determining calibration status of measuring and test equipment
  • Interact cross-functionally with Field Engineers and other team members
