About The Position

The Field Engineer provides engineering plans, in-depth analyses, tools, and improvements to field operations. This role leads departmental and cross-functional projects by identifying and implementing process enhancements, supporting operational goals, and mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • In lieu of degree, high school diploma or GED and 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills across all organizational levels.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and related systems.
  • Experience in industrial or warehouse operations with proven process improvement results.
  • Effective teamwork and problem-solving skills with both wage employees and upper management.
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret information.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Ability to sit, walk, or stand for the duration of the shift.
  • Must possess visual acuity to perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to conduct physical tasks with a full range of motion throughout the warehouse environment.
  • Ability to lift/carry items up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze performance data and document existing processes to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Independently research and analyze technical and engineering information.
  • Present improvement recommendations and cost justification analyses to management.
  • Monitor expenditures to ensure alignment with budget guidelines.
  • Formulate and present research findings, progress updates, and results documentation.
  • Interact with team members, customers, and senior management to support project execution.
  • Apply project management fundamentals and publish progress reports, meeting minutes, memos, and presentations.
  • Mentor and develop critical skill sets in junior engineers.
  • Develop and update engineering plans based on forecasted volume, contingency plans, and historical data.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and develop customized reports for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare independent cost-benefit analyses for technology improvements and equipment purchases.
  • Observe operations and recommend productivity and damage reduction strategies.
  • Train managers on engineering principles, methods, and procedures.
  • Perform cost reduction analyses using sound engineering principles.
  • Monitor staffing plans and adjust engineering strategies to meet productivity goals.
  • Implement, train, and monitor new corporate program rollouts independently.
  • Lead operations and corporate engineering department projects.
  • Participate in cross-functional Quality Driven Management (QDM) projects.
