About The Position

The Field Engineer II will implement, upgrade, and consolidate new and existing corporate networking systems; take strong part in architecture, following industry standard best-practices, implement corporate security standards, assist ensuring audit requirements are met, perform mission critical component installations, configurations, device administration, and meet business continuity requirements in an enterprise, multi- platform, local and wide area network environment; monitor components and peripheral equipment to ensure network uptime, performance and availability. Provides comprehensive implementation, conversion, and support to enterprise locations which utilize corporate technology. This resource is commonly onsite or at remote facilities providing assistance with hardware, software, or IT based solutions to pharmacy, support hubs, and corporate users to ensure their ability to utilize various technologies. Supports and performs projects for the LAN/WAN environment at a global level Competent to architect solutions to specific business needs, install, configure, and monitor network device hardware and data communication systems throughout the local and wide area networking fabric Intermediate proficiency with troubleshooting and support of network devices including but not limited to firewalls, routers, switches, CSU/ DSU’s and, T1, B1, DSL, PRI and most internetworking protocols Advanced understanding of networking concepts, function, protocols and interactions in a complex local and wide area environment. Telco backbone, cable, fiber optic, telephony, and MPLS emphasis; isolate complex issues and provide solutions and support Performs on-call functions on a perpetual basis while onsite Performs a key role in the preparation and execution of IT changes minimizing impact to corporate business continuity Implements end user equipment, peripherals, MFD’s, printer, faxes Willing and ability to travel 50-80% Stay abreast of industry standards and incorporates them to enhance sound current practices Performs other tasks as assigned Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, its policies and procedures, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards including HIPPA compliance.

Requirements

  • High School diploma and compensated work experience in technology field
  • Four to six years of experience in the field or related area
  • Six or more years of experience in the field or related area
  • Advanced knowledge with OS, Hardware, and Software troubleshooting skills. Strong TCP/IP fundamentals including routing, subnets, network sniffing, WINS, DNS, and DHCP, cabling topologies. Proficiency in MS applications (Word, Excel, Access, etc)
  • Telecom experience or exposure, multiple OS platforms, Windows, Linux preferred
  • Skills: Leadership, Communication, Customer Service, Dependable, Initiative, Detail Oriented, Teamwork, Organization and Planning, Adaptability, Problem Solving, Dependability
  • Percentage of travel 75-100% (driving 4 hours; flying 8 hours)

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in technology field, relevant industry certification; or equivalent work experience desired
  • Industry IT certificates, Microsoft, Meraki, VM, CompTIA preferred
