About The Position

The Field Engineer 2 will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of GE Precision Healthcare medical equipment at customer sites, ensuring optimal performance and patient safety.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or a related technical field, or equivalent military experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience servicing complex medical imaging or diagnostic equipment.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills and proficiency with various test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field-based role.
  • Proficient with computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office Suite and service management applications.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel extensively within a designated service territory, including overnight stays as required.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and perform tasks requiring physical dexterity.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (e.g., FDA, HIPAA) in a healthcare environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex installations, preventative maintenance, and corrective repairs on a wide range of GE Precision Healthcare imaging and diagnostic equipment, including but not limited to X-ray, MRI, CT, and Ultrasound systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions using advanced diagnostic tools, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Provide timely and effective technical support to customers, resolving issues efficiently and minimizing downtime.
  • Conduct quality assurance tests and calibrations to ensure equipment meets manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Document all service activities accurately and completely in GE's service management system, including work performed, parts used, and time spent.
  • Train customers on proper equipment operation and basic troubleshooting techniques.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of GE Precision Healthcare product lines, updates, and service procedures.
  • Adhere to all GE EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) policies and procedures, as well as customer site safety protocols.
  • Manage a territory and schedule service calls effectively to meet response time targets and customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with sales, applications, and technical support teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with technology and industry standards.
