The Field Engineer II will be able to install and operate most types of low-voltage/structured cabling systems and equipment. This position involves troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment problems in a senior service support role, including testing, troubleshooting of system components and functions, and field verification of connections, labels, installation, and work quality. The Field Engineer II will understand advanced system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals, and will be able to create shop drawings and submittals for new project kick-off. They will manage the technical work in the field with little supervision, assume ownership of project installation, and provide advanced support for field installation staff. Additionally, they will assist with maintaining and completing project punch-lists for project closeouts, oversee the technical aspects of projects, quality-check the projects, test all equipment and functionality, and assist sales staff as needed with product and system demonstrations.

  • At least 5+ years commercial low voltage/structured cabling experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to define a project, create a project scope of work, and manage tasks to completion.
  • Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, and professional.
  • Proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to effectively read, write, and give oral presentations.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to travel within branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
