The Field Engineer II will be able to install and operate most types of low-voltage/structured cabling systems and equipment. They will troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems in a senior service support role, which includes testing, troubleshooting of system components and functions, and field verification of connections, labels, installation, and work quality. The Field Engineer II will understand advanced system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals, and will be able to create shop drawings and submittals for new project kick-off. They will manage the technical work in the field with little supervision, assume ownership of project installation, and provide support to field staff and project managers. This role includes maintaining and completing project punch-lists for project closeouts, overseeing the technical aspects of projects, quality-checking the projects, testing all equipment and functionality, and assisting sales staff with product and system demonstrations.

  • Must have at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • At least 5+ years of commercial low voltage/structured cabling experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to effectively read, write, and give oral presentations.
  • Ability to diagnose and fix problems with existing equipment and new installs.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • High skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents.
