About The Position

The Field Engineer I (Wind) position is responsible for independently inspecting and monitoring construction activities to ensure completion per the plans and adherence to all specifications and codes required. The employee must develop a thorough understanding of the project scope and schedule as they relate to their specific assignment. This is a traveling position, up to 100% of the time, with the potential to be placed on a project site located in any state throughout the US. The role includes a daily per diem in addition to base pay to support living expenses and is eligible for routine travel home from the jobsite.

Requirements

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical Engineering or related degree preferred
• High School graduate or equivalent and 2 or more years' experience in related construction field
• Must be capable of completing and passing the local or state certified SWPPP inspector program
• Knowledge of SWPPP project management plan

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures
• Inspect and ensure the quality of work performed during daily activities on large-scale wind and/or solar projects
• Determine that construction work is in conformance with design documents
• Review tests and inspection reports to ensure all required tests are completed
• Ensure all materials associated with installation comply with job site specifications
• Perform basic to moderate surveying and necessary measuring
• Plan and conduct daily activities in a highly organized manner
• Monitor and record all work scope being executed and prepare comprehensive Daily Reports
• Prevent deficiencies through preconstruction quality control inspection
• Detect deficiencies and address them in a timely manner
• Work closely with the Field Quality Manager and site management
• Interface with construction managers to maintain communication and report job progress
• Assist in compiling necessary information for operations and maintenance manuals
• Inspect work and manage punch lists for completed work
• Assist in managing production and extra work authorization logs
• Utilize construction management software for quality inspections and documentation
• Assist or participate in phase gate preparations or presentations
• Assist the Field Quality Manager with benchmarking and job book development
• Mentor and train Quality Inspectors in their duties
• Other duties as assigned
