The Field Engineer I - Security Systems must be able to program and install security systems (Card Access, CCTV, CATV and Intrusion systems) per manufacturer requirements and engineered drawings. Server and Software Programming (Genetec, Axis, AMAG, and Symmetry).

  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems in a senior service support role.
  • Includes testing, troubleshooting of system components and functions and field verification of connections, labels, installation and work quality.
  • Understands advanced system drawings, specifications and technical manuals.
  • Creates shop drawings and submittals for new project kick-off.
  • Manages the technical work in the field with little supervision.
  • Works both 'in house' and in the field when required.
  • Assumes ownership of project installation giving support to field staff and project manager.
  • Provides advanced support for field installation staff.
  • Assists with maintaining and completing project punch-list for project close outs.
  • Oversees the technical aspects of projects.
  • Performs quality-checks on the projects, tests all equipment and functionality and creates punch lists.
  • Assists sales staff as needed with product and system demonstrations.
  • Handles other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Must have at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Must have at least 3-4 years commercial Security Systems cabling experience (Card Access, CCTV, CATV and Intrusion systems).
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project).
  • Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Must have demonstrated verifiable ability to define a project, create a project scope of work, develop detailed associated tasks and manage these to final completion and customer turnover.
