About The Position

The D.A. Collins Family of Companies has brought safety, quality and productivity to industrial, infrastructure, highway, and bridge construction for over 75 years. D.A. Collins Companies is seeking to add valued members to our growing team as Field Engineers. Our Corporate Office is in Wilton, New York but this position will require travel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or environmental engineering
• Knowledge of business concepts and accounting
• 1-3 years' experience / internships / co-ops in a heavy civil environment
• Strong work ethic
• Self-motivated
• Proficient computer skills
• Values teamwork & communication
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen
• Must have a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation to report to work on time

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and analyze construction plans
• Review shop drawing submittals
• Measure and track quantities of work in place
• Apply knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations
• Solve moderately complex problems
• Assist with creation of functional project schedules meeting desired deadlines
• Maintain organized project records
• Be dedicated to safety and maintaining a healthy work environment
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team
• Perform a variety of tasks that may include periodically having to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods of time, stretch, walk, climb and bend under potentially adverse field conditions and be able to perform visual tasks such as back up spotting and hear and react to back up alarms, per safety protocol
