The Field E&I Commissioning Technician supports the delivery of electrical and instrumentation commissioning activities during construction, startup, and project closeout phases within a semiconductor facility. This role is heavily field-based and focused on verifying installation quality, supporting system energization, executing testing activities, and ensuring systems are safe, compliant, and fully operational prior to handover. You will work closely with engineers, contractors, vendors, and operations teams to ensure successful system performance throughout the commissioning lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in a related field with a strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Experience in commissioning, construction, or startup environments
  • Familiarity with OAT, FAT, and system energization processes
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, loop diagrams, and I/O lists
  • Troubleshooting experience with electrical and control systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork in field environments
  • Commitment to safety and compliance (LOTO, OSHA standards)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (preferred)
  • OSHA 10 required (OSHA 30 preferred)
  • Semiconductor or mission-critical experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform E&I installation walkdowns and verify system completeness, including cabling, terminations, grounding, and instrument installation.
  • Review QA/QC documentation, loop checks, and test results to ensure systems meet project and safety standards.
  • Identify, document, and track installation and testing deficiencies through commissioning systems. (e.g., EXTO)
  • Support system energization, including breaker operations, control panel power-up, and instrument loop verification.
  • Assist with Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT) and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), including troubleshooting and retesting activities.
  • Verify calibration, alarms, interlocks, and system responses through BMS/EPMS/HMI interfaces.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and engineers to resolve issues and ensure system readiness.
  • Track corrective actions and confirm systems are restored to normal operating conditions after testing.
  • Support Green Tag and Blue Tag readiness and ensure all commissioning documentation is complete.
  • Verify final system configurations, protective device settings, and calibration records during project closeout.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and support final system turnover to the client.
  • Any other duties or responsibiltites that may be assigned to your and your role.
